During this course you will explore the possibilities of drypoint printing, an intaglio etching process.

We will explore making, inking up and printing drypoint plates through the press, introducing more experimental techniques over the course of the workshop.

  • You will learn the way through practical application the way in which drypoint is well suited to drawing techniques

  • You shall also see that drypoint can also be combined with other printmaking processes such as monoprint

  • Drypoint is a printing technique that is based on drawing, so it may be useful to bring along some smallish drawings (particularly line drawings), photos etc that you might like to work from. If you don’t have anything don’t worry! There is a great deal that can be done just exploring different types of mark and books and artists’ examples shall be provided for ideas too

 

Freya Horsley is an artist who studied in Birmingham, Lyon and York and exhibits in galleries around the country and has work in private collections in Europe and the United States. Alongside painting Freya has taught nationally and internationally.http://www.freyahorsley.com/

In the unlikely event we have to can cel a course or workshop you deposit will be returned to you in full. Should you have to cancel a your place on a workshop or course, your deposit will be returned to you or transferred to another course if your cancellation is 7 days or more before the commencement of the courses or workshop. If less than 7 days notice is given the deposit is non refundable unless we can fill your place in which case it shall be returned to you.
