There will be on-going referencing to inspiring watercolour practitioners and a discussion of their methods. Reference material and handouts will be provided for visual support.

  • You will explore washes and creative brush work. The approach will be focused on simplification of the elements including tone, colour and composition. It is perfect time for you to explore rules of composition and practice creating dynamic but balanced designs when painting autumn landscapes.

  • You will learn how to simply use the brush to build up sky and various suggestive backgrounds in the very direct fashion

  • Explore mark making

  • Mix family groups of Autumnal colours

  • Learn how to paint groups of trees as individual blocks exploring positive and negative shapes
