During this Watercolour workshop you will explore two approaches to painting tree:
We will look at techniques based on simplification of the elements including tone, colour and composition. It is perfect time for you to explore rules of composition and practice creating dynamic but balanced designs when painting trees.
We will also explore painting style and methodology relating to the structure of the trees when painting from observation. This method teaches you to explore colour, tone and intricate contours of tree shapes, it disciplines you to plan the stages of the work from apply glazes to establishing sky-holes within the foliage.
You will learn how to simply use the brush to build up masses of trees in the very direct fashion
Explore mark making, lifting, work with a sponge
Learn how to paint groups of trees as individual blocks exploring positive and negative shapes
Mix family groups of colours, especially Autumnal colours
You will come away full of practical solutions and creative ideas ego to include trees in your work with confidence
Julia Borodina is a Fine Artist trained in Russia and the UK. Her main themes are landscapes and townscapes and has exhibited work at the Annual Exhibition of Royal Society of Painters in Water Colour, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Annual Exhibition of Society of Women Artists at the Mall Galleries in London, Royal Society of Birmingham Artists and many other British Galleries. https://www.juliaborodina.co.uk
