DURING THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL EXPLORE THE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF OIL PAINT AND WHAT MAKES THEM SO RICH AND FLEXIBLE,  EXPLORING THEM THROUGH PAINTING A STILL LIFE FROM OBSERVATION ON A CANVAS PANEL, WITH INSPIRATION PROVIDED BY ARTISTS SUCH AS GIACOMMETTI AND MONDRIAN (COLOUR PHOTOCOPIES PROVIDED). WHILST LEARNING FROM GREAT ARTISTS YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH BASIC OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUES AND COLOUR-MIXING AS WELL AS HOW TO APPLY THE OIL PAINT IN A VARIETY OF WAYS AND HOW DO YOU YOU MAKE THE OIL PAINT DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SEE IN AN ARTISTICALLY CREATIVE WAY.                                                                                                  

TUTOR TIM MORRISON TRAINED AT THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF ART AND EDINBURGH, HAS EXHIBITED IN YORK AND LONDON AND HAS MANY YEARS EXPERIENCE TEACHING SUCCESSFUL, VARIED AND INTERESTING AND ADULT ART CLASSES. TIM IS REGULARLY PART OF YORK OPEN STUDIOS.
