Over 4 sessions, we will explore a number of facets of the endlessly adaptable monoprint. covering basic methods such as trace monotype (which is a drawing-based process), additive and subtractive methods (which are both close to painting in many ways), and more relief-based, textural techniques, we will also have the opportunity to experiment with combinations of all of those methods. at times we will use still-life objects as a starting point for observational work, at other times we will be led purely by the process itself, exploring texture, colour, line and layering.
