Further Collage Workshop with artist Tim Morrison
During this workshop you will have the opportunity to paint paper and card, cut and collage in with found cuts, just as Kurt Schwitters did. His pioneering exquisite collages in the 1920s shocked the public at the time because they were literally made from discarded rubbish such as tram tickets fragments of newspaper, receipts which are beautiful, in the way he exquisitely balanced shapes and colour and texture.
Therefore through tearing and cutting during this workshop you will have the opportunity to create a collage and tap in on a creative improvisatory way of working, develop your knowledge of refinement of composition and appreciate a bit of early 20C art history, and refine your own aesthetic sensibilities and open new creative doors in your own personal work.
When: Saturday 25th March 2017 - Time: 12.30pm - 4.30pm - Suitable for all levels - All materials and refreshments provided - Cost £35
Tutor: Tim Morrison trained at The Royal College of Art and Edinburgh, has exhibited in York and London and has many years experience teaching successful, varied and interesting and adult art classes. Tim is regularly part of York Open Studios.
