During this workshop you will have an opportunity to get to grips in depth with soft pastel techniques and methods whilst working from observation, looking at colour and tonal relationships and investigate how best to use pastels to reveal subtleties whilst trying a variety of techniques from crosshatching to smudged blending
We shall look at great artists who exploited and advanced pastel and painting such as Degas, Picasso and Ahrika. There will be advice given on which paper is best to use for pastel work and you will have an opportunity to learn about colour theory and colour mixing.
Tutor: Tim Morrison trained at The Royal College of Art and Edinburgh, has exhibited in York and London and has many years experience teaching successful, varied and interesting art classes. Tim is regularly part of York Open Studios.
