His technique is focused on simplification of the elements including tone, colour and composition. You will learn how to simply use the brush to build up masses of trees in the very direct fashion. You will also be encouraged to paint with crumpled paper and even use mono printing. It is perfect time for you to explore rules of composition and practice creating dynamic but balanced designs when painting trees. The second approach is inspired by the resent watercolour paintings of Ian Sidaway. Very different and distinctive painting style of the artist methodology will help you to understand the structure of the trees when painting from observation. This method teaches you to explore colour, tone and intricate contours of tree shapes, it disciplines you to plan the stages of the work from apply glazes to establishing sky-holes within the foliage.
